Giving Opportunities
The Annual Giving Campaign - Counting Our Blessings
Blessings surround us with joy and grace, but, we often forget they are there unless we take time to notice. In fact, our lives are filled with blessings – blessings behind us, beside us, within us and before us, still in the future, yet to be realized.
Then there are blessings that bring us all together as a community of faith. The swelling sound of organ and choir lifting praise to God.
Blessings comfort and strengthen us. God blesses us in so many ways. We receive blessings and pass them on to others. In this way, we know the life lovingly given by God.
Honoring the Past
by building upon the ministry efforts of those who have gone before us at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral
Serving the Present
by securing the lean staffing structure we put in place last year. We have accomplished this by consolidating our budget for staff, expanding staff responsibilities, and expanding the volunteer ministry opportunities.
Investing in the Future
by meeting the critical needs in our Family and Parish Community Life ministries.
Through stewardship we acknowledge that the many gifts we have been given are from God. Stewardship calls us to give back to God, by offering our time and talent, and by making a financial commitment to the church. Annual pledges support what we do and who we are at Trinity. Our yearly budget is driven by the generosity of our parishioners through pledges to the Annual Giving Campaign. Many parishioners additionally make special donation during the year to support particular ministries and projects.
How to Pledge
Your pledge is a yearly commitment of a certain amount of money to help Trinity sustain its ministries and programs. Pledges form the basis of our annual operating budget. The amount you give is as personal as prayer. Just as there is not wrong way to pray, there is no wrong way to pledge. It is the commitment that matters. We ask that you prayerfully reflect on your connection to Trinity and what this church means to you. To assist you in your discernment here is a graph of giving guidelines from the national church. You can fulfill your pledge over the course of a calendar year with a payment schedule that suits your cash flow, knowing all the while that your faith in the Trinity community is deeply appreciated. As You Consider Making Your Pledge to Trinity
Did you know that Visa, or Master cards that have rewards attached, such as mileage or points, cost Trinity much more to process. In fact, the fees to process these cards have doubled in the last two years. Last year alone, Trinity paid an additional $6,000 in credit card processing fees for rewards cards.
We most certainly welcome your credit card as an option for paying your pledge, but we would like to offer some alternatives for your consideration. These include:
-
using a debit card
-
setting up your pledge on bill pay
-
paying weekly or monthly by check
Should you be able to use one of these options, this way everything you pay actually benefits Trinity. Above all, when considering your paying options, please use the card and the approach that works best for you. As we count our blessings, we are most grateful for your support of Trinity.
