Pearl People of Passion and Spirit...the Pearls of Trinity

And Jesus said, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.”
Matthew 13:45-46

The pearl is the only precious gem that is the result of a living organism at work, not created by the earth’s pressure.

Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a merchant who gives up everything in pursuit of one precious pearl, the most perfect and beautiful thing he has ever seen. As with all parables, there is no single meaning or interpretation, but rather an invitation to wonder and reflect on the values and relationships that give our lives meaning. What might be so precious that we would give up all we have to obtain it? What are the “pearls” of our lives – the people, places, privileges, pursuits and passions that mean the most to us?

At Trinity Cathedral, we understand each person as a pearl of great price,
supremely precious in God’s sight. Our community is made up of many pearls of different shapes and sizes, each a person of passion and spirit. We reach out – to each other, to our neighborhood, to the world around us – with the spirit of
generosity and service that Jesus inspires in each of us.

Through Stewardship we acknowlege that the many gifts we have been given are from God. Stewardship calls us to give back to God by offering our time and talent and by making a financial commitment to our church.

How to Pledge

Your pledge is a yearly commitment of a certain amount of money to help Trinity sustain its ministries and programs. Pledges form the basis of our annual operating budget. Determining our giving to God through the church requires prayer and faith. To assist you in your discernment here is a graph of giving guidelines . You can fulfill your pledge over the course of a calendar year with a payment schedule that suits your cash flow, knowing all the while that your faith in the Trinity community is deeply appreciated. As You Consider Making Your Pledge to Trinity

Did you know that Visa, or Master cards that have rewards attached, such as mileage or points, cost Trinity much more to process. In fact, the fees to process these cards have doubled in the last two years. Last year alone, Trinity paid an additional $6,000 in credit card processing fees for rewards cards.

We most certainly welcome your credit card as an option for paying your pledge, but we would like to offer some alternatives for your consideration. These include:

  • using a debit card

  • setting up your pledge on bill pay

  • paying weekly or monthly by check

Should you be able to use one of these options, this way everything you pay actually benefits Trinity. Above all, when considering your paying options, please use the card and the approach that works best for you. As we count our blessings, we are most grateful for your support of Trinity.
