Pastoral Care at Trinity
Overview
Sometimes life becomes difficult. We all experience times of sorrow, grief, great successes and turnarounds, confusion, transition or illness. During these challenging times members of the Cathedral community can be supportive by holding one another in caring companionship and prayer. A significant element of Pastoral Care at Trinity is the informal way in which clergy and parishioners care for one another offering listening ears, loving hearts and the willingness simply to be present to one another at times of joy and sorrow.
Educational and support group opportunities are offered around various issues of Pastoral Care along with opportunities to serve.
Programs, Classes and Support Groups
Clergy
Cathedral and affiliate clergy are available to listen, to pray and to be with you in difficult times. Please let the office or Canon Pastor Nichols know when a loved one is in the hospital, is grieving or needs someone with whom to discuss particular issues. Clergy may offer a referral to other support networks. Of course, the clergy provide guidance in planning funerals and memorial services, as well as the joyous occasions of weddings.

Pastoral Care Committee
The nine committee members meet 10 times a year
2nd Tuesday of each month
6:30–8:30pm
This committee supports pastoral care at Trinity Cathedral and explores new and unique ways to provide broad pastoral care to the Trinity community. It consists of representatives from each pastoral care team. Appointments are for three-year terms, and are made by the Dean and Canon Pastor.
We would like to hear from Trinity members who seek ways to offer their time and abilities through one of the pastoral care volunteer opportunities, or who need pastoral care, or who would like to share an idea for improving or expanding the pastoral care of Trinity Cathedral. Contact: Canon Nichols 503-478–1208.
