Education for Ministry (EFM)
Education for Ministry (EFM) was designed by the School of Theology of the University of the South as a serious four-year exploration of the Christian faith from an Anglican perspective for lay people. The study of Scripture, Jewish and Christian history, liturgics, ethics, and spirituality are integrated with weekly seminar sessions for discussion, worship and theological reflection with ties to our own lives and ministries. If you are transferring into Trinity and have been enrolled in EFM elsewhere, there is a class at each level currently going on. A new First Year group will be forming next fall. Please contact Mary Sicilia for more details: marys@trinity-episcopal.org

Cathechesis
For those wishing to know more about the Christian faith from an Anglican perspective. Catechesis provides an opportunity to take stock of where you are in relationship to the Christian faith, what are your key questions and concerns about the faith at this point, and sample some of the topics covered in the Catechesis program.

  • Day of Discovery

  • Cathechesis Classes
When:                Wednesday Evenings, beginning January, 2008

Time:                  7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
With the clergy, staff and lay leadership of Trinity as guides, take a look at church history, approaches to Scripture, theology, ethics, liturgics and spirituality of Anglicanism with an eye toward exploring your own questions and experiences. For those class participants wishing to become members of the Episcopal Church, the bishop will be at Trinity for confirmation, reception and reaffirmation of faith on Trinity Sunday, June 3rd.

  • Youth Confirmation - Journey to Meaning
Journey to Meaning is a 12 week Confirmation class for Trinity youth who are interested in learning more about the Christian tradition, the Episcopal Church, as well their own gifts and reasons for being. We will address such questions as: What does it mean to be a Christian/Episcopalian? What are our gifts and how can we use them in this world? What does it mean to renew our Baptismal Covenant? This is NOT your grandmother's confirmation class! You will be asked to do some real thinking about your own beliefs, your gifts and the relevance of your faith to your life (as well as learn some great stuff about Christian and Episcopal tradition). We will also be joined by a number of guest speakers who are not to be missed, and participate in a weekend retreat and sweat lodge!
  • For more information on this class please contact Heather Wenrick at 503-478-1213 or email to heatherw@trinity-episcopal.org.
