Honduras Mission Trip Overview
Continuing a 10-year partnership with Project Global Village, the Youth and Outreach Ministries Commissions are sponsoring another summer work team. We invite you to join us. Last summer’s team worked along side community members in Ocomán and Montañuelas to build 35 improved latrines and an additional classroom for an elementary school. This year we will begin installation of 20 improved latrines in Montañuelasas and 20 additional latrines in nearby Piedra Pintada.
Community leaders in Montañuelas have identified this project as one of their community development priorities and have asked Project Global Village for support. We are glad to partner with Project Global Village and the community members of Montañuelas to help them realize this goal.
Before our visit, Project Global Village staff will work with the community to prepare the project materials. Each recipient family will dig the latrine pit in advance. Our job will be to complete any finishing details needed on each pit, to build the privacy shelter, and to install the cement cap, the floor, the commode, and the shelter. After our visit, the Project Global Village staff will provide oversight to ensure that all the latrines are completed and to furnish ongoing health training and community development assistance.
