Bruce Neswick

Canon for Cathedral Music

About Bruce:

Bruce grew up in the Tri-Cities, in eastern Washington, and is happy to be back in his native Pacific Northwest, after having spent the bulk of his career on the other side of the Rockies.  He holds degrees from Pacific Lutheran University and Yale University and then undertook two years of post-grad study at the Conservatory in Geneva, Switzerland.  Bruce holds an honorary doctorate from the University of the South, as well as Fellowship degrees from the American Guild of Organists and the Royal School of Church Music.  Having won three organ improvisation competitions, he performs and teaches under the management of Philip Truckenbrod Concert Artists.

Though his musical tastes are eclectic, Bruce is not afraid to narrow his list of favorite composers down to J.S. Bach, Herbert Howells, Olivier Messiaen, Texu Kim and Carole King.  People tell Bruce that he is an expert in coffee and gin, and he favors drinking both while listening to jazz.

Arrival at Trinity:

April 2014, just in time for the Bach St. John Passion, Holy Week/Easter, and Marcus Borg's life celebration.

Fun fact:

Bruce loves just about everything that comes from South Korea, and Seoul is his favoritre megalopolis!
