About the Event

(Viewing times: Sundays 8:30 am-12:00 pm; Tues-Thur 10:00 am-3:00 pm.)

About the Exhibit: Explore mystical expressions of natural objects and the human body in original work by Puget Sound artists Dana Weir and Elisabeth Haight. Using paint, beeswax, seeds, found texts, and gold leaf to invoke and sanctify natural cycles, the symbols in these pieces take on new power and life. Opening reception and demonstration by featured artist Dana Weir held on Sunday, May 12, at 11:30 am.

About the Artists: Dana Weir’s artwork has been exhibited in juried and invitational shows throughout the Pacific Northwest. In August of 2022 her work was featured in a curated, two-person show at Northwind’s Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend. In addition to being a studio artist, she serves as an art educator for local schools and organizations, including Swan School, the Benji Project, and the Northwind Art School.

Elisabeth Haight has lived in the Pacific Northwest all her life. Her mother's love of craft and handwork influenced her to follow her artistic interest. After spending time in England studying drawing and design, she graduated from the Evergreen State College in art. She went on to study and work at both Haystack Mountain School of Art and the Pilchuck Glass School. Both artists live in Port Townsend, Wa.
