(Led by Barb Millikan) Howard Thurman’s classic reading of the Gospels through the lens of the oppressed profoundly influenced Dr. King and thousands of civil rights workers. Each chapter of his "Jesus & the Disinherited" is a deep dive into the realities of race in the United States and the message of Jesus. All Christians concerned about racial justice should be familiar with this important and moving text.

About the presenter: Barbara Millikan has been leading Trinity’s Racial and Information Network (TRAIN) for several years.  A former teacher and school principal, she has broad experience teaching at Trinity on topics related to racial justice and sacred listening.
