About the Organist:

James Walton is an organist, countertenor, and multi-instrumentalist who joined the community at Trinity in Advent of 2018. James began his musical adventures studying piano at the age of 8, and at age 11 was a pickled boy in the Trinity production of Benjamin Britten’s St. Nicolas. He has performed with Pacific Youth Choir, the Community Music Center as a cellist, and at the Oregon Bach Festival. He began playing organ in 2018, and he studies organ with Bruce Neswick and voice with Emily Lau, artistic director of The Broken Consort. Also a harpsichordist, James studies early music and improvises and creates accompaniments from figured bass. In the fall, James will be attending Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music as a Jacobs Scholar. He will pursue a double major in Organ Performance and Historical Performance Voice.
