Walking with Mary at Chartres (Jill Geoffrion)
Time & Location
About the Event
The Rev'd Jill Geoffrion, author of Visions of Mary: Art, Devotion, and Beauty at Chartres Cathedral, introduces us to the labyrinth at Chartres, which is the model for Trinity's own wood inlay labyrinth. After opening our hearts and imaginations on the threshold stone of the Chartres labyrinth, we will wind our way through images and experiences inspired by what can be seen from the ancient pathway at Chartres. We will be invited to discover more of Mary's gracious presence, our own inner depths, and the calls to service that emerge in prayer, as Jill guides toward holistic understanding using our minds, bodies, and spirits. The session will conclude with a question & answer session.
About the Speaker: The Rev. Jill K. H. Geoffrion, Ph. D., author of seven books on labyrinth prayer, spent ten years researching and photographing Marian imagery in the Chartres Cathedral before publishing Visions of Mary: Art, Devotion, and Beauty at the Chartres Cathedral. When in Chartres, Jill serves in the cathedral, offering hospitality to all who come to the labyrinth on Fridays. Nothing brings her more joy than connecting the beauty of the cathedral and its messages of Divine Love with the deep longings of those who experience it virtually or in person. She is excited about "returning" to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. You can discover more at jillgeoffrion.com, praywithjillatchartres.com, and labyrinthprayer.com.
