Lucy Reynolds is in the truest sense of the word, a cradle Episcopalian, having a father who is an Episcopal priest and spending many of her formative years at church functions at St. David's in Austin, Texas. She joined Trinity in 1999 as a newlywed when she and her husband, Jim, moved to Portland. In 2003, Lucy was appointed by the Vestry to join the search committee of the new Dean, which resulted in a call to Bill Lupfer. In addition, Lucy was an active church school teacher when her children were young and could also be found in the pantry most weeks with two pre-schoolers in tow.
In 2010, Lucy and her family accepted an overseas expat assignment from Nike, which was only supposed to have them away for two years when, in fact, six years later and three very different postings (Amsterdam, Moscow, and most recently Tokyo) they finally returned to Portland this past summer. The family is enjoying all that being "home" entails, most especially an active Trinity life with both children (Maddy, 15 and Ben, 13) acolyting, while Jim and Lucy enjoy the deep spiritual connection they have to Trinity and giving thanks for the thought-provoking sermons that call them forth to be engaged participants in the world around them.
Outside of Trinity, Lucy enjoys her work as a Leadership & Development Career Coach, serving clients in Portland and abroad. On Saturdays, the family can be found skiing on Mt. Hood in the winters or wake surfing behind their boat in the summers.
Lucy is honored to serve on the Vestry and is excited for Trinity's future and mission to serve the NW neighborhood, the city, and the Diocese.
