Michael Vawter

Portland native Michael Vawter and his wife Bonnie joined Trinity in 2006, attracted by the Center for Spiritual Development. Mike served on the Commission for Spiritual Development and participated in the Center's many events and seminars. He was also a member of the Search Committee that recommended the calling of Trinity's current Dean Nathan LeRud.


Mike practiced cardiology until retiring in 2011. After retirement he became involved with William Temple House, and served two terms as President of the Board of Directors.

Mike and Bonnie, who were high school sweethearts, are fortunate to have their two daughters and their families, including four grandchildren, living in Portland.


Mike's pastimes include golf, fly fishing, reading, discussing politics, and studying spirituality.
