Outreach Kitchen Manager
Dorothy is responsible for planning, cooking and serving our Wednesday Community Meal, which our guests from the community continue to rave about. She also coordinates the gleaning and purchasing of the food we serve, as well as insuring its safe storage. In addition, she recruits and nurtures our wonderful community of Food Ministry volunteers, who are delighted to be working with her.
Dorothy has worked in food services as a caterer, cook, baker and server. As an an occupational therapist, she has worked in several mental health settings, and she currently works two days a week at the Oregon State Hospital, where she has created a gardening program.
Outside her working life, Dorothy is passionate about gardening, theatre, and writing. She has written several plays and is currently working on a new piece about Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin scandal.
