Trinity Cathedral Choir
Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7:00-9:00 pm / Service: Sundays at 10:00 am
The Trinity Choir is an auditioned choir made up of singers from all walks of life who share a fierce dedication to the craft of choral singing in a liturgical context and to each another. They are ordinary people who make extraordinary music. The choir’s repertory spans over one thousand years of sacred music.
In addition to singing weekly in the 10 am Eucharist from September to May, the Trinity Choir offers an annual service of Advent Lessons and Carols, the Christmas Concert, monthly Trinity Vespers, annual collaborations with Portland Baroque Orchestra, and sublime music during Holy Week. The Choir of Choristers & Adults also participate in choral residencies in the UK every three years; in 2022, they traveled to St. George's Chapel in Windsor & St. Paul's London, and in 2026, they will spend a week at Durham Cathedral.
The Cathedral Schola is an ensemble of professional vocalists numbering from eight to sixteen, depending on the repertoire.
The members, comprised of some of the finest singers in the Portland area, are drawn from a number of professional, academic, and liturgical choirs. This choir provides music for Eucharist and Evensong services, supports the Trinity Choir, and offers a number of special services throughout the year.
Rehearsals & service calls vary.

This choir gives newcomers a structure through which they can learn about life in the full choir. Members of the Training Choir are inducted into the Choristers in June. Click here to learn more.
