What is Lessons & Carols?
A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a service of readings & choral music that originated at King's College Chapel Cambridge in 1918 to bring a more imaginative approach to worship. It was first broadcast live on the radio in 1928 and is now heard by millions of people around the world on Christmas Eve. The service was almost immediately adapted by other churches around the world.
