What is Lessons and Carols?
Lessons and Carols is a service of readings and choral music that originated at King's College Cambridge in 1918 to bring a more imaginative approach to worship. It was first broadcast live on the radio in 1928, and it is now heard by millions of people across the world on Christmas Eve. The service has been adopted by churches across the world, and it has become one of the gems of the Anglican musical tradition.
