About the Artist
Levant Karayalim was born in Istanbul, Turkey and moved to the United States in the late 1980’s. At age 25, while living in NYC, he apprenticed for Marlene Eidelheit, director of the the Textile Conservation Laboratory. Where he restored 14th-15th-16th French and Flemish Medieval tapestries that now reside in museums and residences. This talent has transformed into his bodies of works. He also did freelance work for Peter Marino Interiors.
