Class: Monastic Presence for Times Like These

Monastic Presence for Times Like These

In-person; led by Elaine Harris

Times like these are not a novel occurrence. There have always been times like these. The ancient presence of monastic practice was a blaze of hope during days of despair.  Now, global warming, economic disparity and political divisiveness necessitate rekindling that energy. Monastic presence continues to offer a way to respond in the cloister that is our world.

This class explores honoring the other, chanting the psalms, listening with the ear of your heart, and the ladder of humility. Facilitated by Abbot Elaine Harris and members of the Cornerstone Community, it is open to all can serve as a doorway to joining Cornerstone – an intentional lay community at Trinity that embraces the ancient Rule of St. Benedict as a means to navigate contemporary life.
