About the Event
Advent Labyrinth Experience: Looking for Light in the Darkness
Hybrid; led by Brandon James O'Neil
For most of his life, Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772) was a man of his time: an Enlightenment-era scientist, anatomist, and engineer, with little concern for theological or spiritual matters. But his life's trajectory changed after a series of vivid dreams and visions that culminated in his full-sensory awareness of spiritual dimensions. His remaining years were spent trying to explain the doctrines of the New Church he saw established in the spiritual world. This class explores the writings of Swedenborg as a systematic theology and suggests ways to re-imagine conventional Christian statements of belief.
