Acclaimed concert organist Joseph Adam presents a spectacular program on Trinity's Rosales organ, one of the finest instruments on the West Coast.  The program features three monuments of the organ repertoire: Sonata No. 1 by German composer Paul Hindemith, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita on Sei gegrüßet, Jesu gütig, and French organist-composer Charles-Marie Widor’s spectacular Symphonie No. 7.

These three works showcase a wide variety of styles, and each presents the performer with unique technical challenges – prepare to be amazed with Mr. Adam’s technical prowess and by Trinity's tremendous Rosales pipe organ!

About the organist:

Mr. Adam has performed throughout Europe and the United States and has won prizes in numerous competitions, including first prize at the prestigious St. Albans International Organ Competition in England. Recent recitals have included the Cathedral of Saint Bavo in Haarlem, the Netherlands; St. Augustine Church, Vienna; and the Basilica of the National Shrine in Washington, D.C.

As Resident Organist at Benaroya Hall for the past nine seasons, Mr. Adam performs regularly with the Seattle Symphony; in recent seasons, he performed concertos by Handel and Hanson under the direction of Nicholas McGegan and Gerard Schwarz. He has been Cathedral Organist at St. James Cathedral in Seattle since 1993. Click to hear Mr. Adam perform the Grand jeu from Dumage's Premier livre de orgue.
