Gaza and Its Consequences: Making Sense of Incommensurable Narratives

In December 2023, our Sunday forum series focused on bearing witness to multiple stories as we focused on the war between Israel and Hamas in light of our baptismal covenant. We asked the question, “What might it mean to respect the dignity of every human being in times of war?” This year, we return to that region of the world to consider the consequences of the War in Gaza following the October 2025 ceasefire.

How has the war changed the State of Israel, Jewish and Palestinian Israelis within Israeli proper, Palestinians in Gaza, and the Palestinians and Jewish settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem?
