About the Event

The Native American practice of drumming is a ceremony meant to be shared. Like Christianity, the First Nation spiritual walk looks at the immanence of God or the sacred spirit. Join us for a morning of Native American drumming and singing as a means to connect more with the spirit world. You’re welcome to bring your own drum if you have one!

About the presenter: Father Joe Scheeler has served as Vicar at All Saints Episcopal Church in Vancouver, Washington since 2015. He is also the Hospital Chaplain for Legacy Health in Salmon Creek, Washington. Prior to coming to Vancouver, he served as Canon for Native American Ministry at The Diocese of Montana. Father Joe is affiliated with the Lenape tribe in present-day Delaware and the Assiniboine/Nakota from Montana.

The Traveling Day Society is an inter-tribal and multi-cultural cultural blend of musicians using the voices of the Drum, the Native American Flute and other traditional instruments to create a prayerful and respectful environment to help enhance a peaceful “crossing.” They have been featured at events and hospice services in Portland and Southwest Washington.
