About the Event

(In person only; led by Matthew Lawrence)  Here we are again! Join us for the return of our third Saturday series of Contemplative Mini-Retreats as we spend the morning in silent meditation, reconnecting with our Source and with one another. We’ll also discuss where we’ve been and our future together as Matthew prepares to retire in January. Free; donations gratefully accepted. No prior meditation experience required.

About the presenter: Trinity's Canon for Spiritual Formation Matthew Lawrence wants your brain happy, your curiosity sparked, and your heart opened to the wisdom of this ancient and often difficult tradition. A graduate of the University of Chicago’s Divinity School, he oversees the educational offerings at Trinity. A student of Zen as well as Contemplative Prayer, he has served as a parish priest, campus chaplain, hospital chaplain, peace activist, policy analyst and management consultant. He has recently taken up pickleball, otherwise known as “tennis for old people”, and plays the cello, alone, in a soundproof room. He also loves to ride his motorcycle along beautiful curvy roads near oceans or mountains.

Contemplative Mini-Retreats take place every 3rd Saturday, 9:00 am-noon. Join us for meditation, contemplative prayer as we sit together in community, with time for reflection, learning, and support, with guest teachers to help us explore the contemplative path.
