About the Event
During the pandemic, drinking rose sharply – and so did interest in the “sober curious” movement. Surveys show that up to 86% of drinking adults would like to drink a little less. And in an age when people pause to take a look at their carb or sugar intake, it can’t hurt to take a look at alcohol, with an approach that’s pure curiosity and zero stigma! Statistics from the Royal Free Hospital in London show that participants in a 30-day alcohol break report feeling much happier (92% of participants), improved sleep (82%), reduced anxiety (74%), more productivity (73%) and lost weight (73%).
This class is part book club, part mocktail party! Together, we’ll read the popular book The Alcohol Experiment (Expanded Edition) by Annie Grace, which pulls all the best research, neuroscience, and cognitive behavior and habit theory into one eye-opening, supportive, shame-free place. And we’ll sample some of the sophisticated NA spirits, wines and beers coming to market! Your guide is certified mindful drinking/sobriety coach (and Trinity member) Martha Wright of Clear Power Coaching.
