About the Event
(In person only; taught by Fumi Tosu)Â
Jesus was not a liberal or a conservative, a Democrat or a Republican, but he was political, and he was radical. His words and actions are consistently directed against the religious and political structures of Empire that cause the suffering of the disenfranchised masses.
In this five-part course, we will engage in a close reading of Gospel texts as we learn to read with a political lens and explore a spirituality of radical love. Â We will draw on the work of North American biblical scholar Ched Myers as a guide.Â
