Practicing Hope in Daily Life

“Finding hope is not a matter of creating it from nothing but rather of calling forth that which is already there. Hoping is a truly collaborative interpersonal process, and one in which it is a profound privilege to participate.” (Motivational Interviewing, 4th Edition, Miller & Rollnick, 2023, p. 129).

Using this definition as a starting point, this workshop will explore hope as both a way of being and a way of doing. Drawing from many perspectives including scriptural, mystical, psychological, and scientific, participants will be given opportunities to discover and deepen their own inner wellspring of hope, to strengthen their capacity for receiving hope as a facet of divine love, and to practice listening for and acknowledging the signs and evidence for hope in others and the world.
