About the class: Process Theology is an innovative, science-based way of thinking about the Universe and God. In this conception, Reality is an ever-changing relational process carried out by agents of free will (even including atoms & molecules), over whom God has only the power of persuasion, rather than coercion. Process thought has one of the most graceful solutions to the infamous “problem of evil,” it takes beauty and creativity very seriously, and it might just change your life.
About the instructor: The Rev'd Chris Bell is a long-time practitioner of Zen and a dharma instructor under the tutelage of Roshi Rachel Mansfield-Howlett. After graduating from Harvard Divinity School, Chris served a Unitarian-Universalist congregation in Santa Rosa, California for 15 years, and currently serves as the chaplain for VistaRiver Hospice in the Portland area.
