About the class: Join Canon for Cathedral Music Katie Webb for a three-week survey of the history of women in church music. From saints to composers to performers, get a glimpse into a relatively hidden history—plus a look at today’s musical movers and shakers—all while enjoying some amazingly beautiful music. In person only. Ends 5/3.
About the Instructor: A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Canon for Cathedral Music Katherine Webb received her doctorate in organ performance, with minor fields in choral conducting and music theory, at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Having served Episcopal congregations in Bloomington, IN, Minneapolis, and Topeka, Katie is a passionate church musician and currently serves as a board member of the Royal School of Church Music in America. An active choral clinician and composer, she has served on the choral faculty at the RSCMA King’s College Training Course in Pennsylvania and at the Presbyterian Association of Musicians Worship and Music Conference at Montreat, North Carolina. Katie's choral compositions have been heard in venues across the country, and she was named to The Diapason’s “Twenty Under Thirty” in recognition of outstanding achievement in the fields of church music and organ performance in 2019.
