Bio:
James loves choral and organ music and continues to find the pursuit of church music to be a most rewarding and fulfilling ministry. James holds a bachelor's degree in Organ Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he also received a Performer's Certificate for outstanding achievement. James has many musical interests and is an avid improviser, pianist, choral singer, early musician, continuo player, and composer, in addition to his love for the organ. Before coming to back to Portland, James was the assistant organist at First United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Indiana.
James loves Portland for its high concentration of trees, lovely bike infrastructure, beautiful hiking spots and mountains nearby, and generally active culture and food in the city. He loves being active, whether walking, biking, running, doing hot yoga, or sitting in the sauna, but most of all, he likes spending time with friends and cooking or making music with them.

Arrival at Trinity:
James is a native of Portland who got his start with music singing in the Pacific Youth Choir when he was in fifth grade, within Trinity's walls. Trinity is a special place to James.
Fun fact:
James will move the world for a fresh handful of raspberries.
