Lauren Loos

Class of 2024

The Loos family moved from Encinitas California to Portland in the spring of 1995 and fell head over heels in love with Trinity two years later. Prior to Trinity Lauren’s faith journey followed a winding road that began with a small community church in her home town of Vista California and eventually brought her to an Episcopal church where she was baptized and married in 1981. Lauren was so moved by the liturgy, music and the openness to thoughtfulness and reason she realized she had found a church home.

At Trinity, Lauren deeply engaged with and helped shape the contemplative and healing ministries through the Center for Spiritual Development. These experiences inspired continued meditation practice and deep participation in Trinity’s spiritual healing ministry. She also led Centering Prayer groups and was a facilitator with Oregon Contemplative Outreach. Most recently she served as chair of Trinity’s Spiritual Formation Commission.

Lauren has graduate degrees from University of California, San Diego and Lewis and Clark College. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor currently in private practice. Her company, Spirited Quest Counseling invites clients to engage with their deepest selves as a way toward wholeness and healing. She specializes in working with complex trauma and those wrestling with spiritual issues. In her journey as a therapist Lauren has held leadership positions in the Oregon Department of Education as an Autism specialist and at Windhorse Integrative Mental Health as Clinical Director. Along with her education as a counselor she holds certificates in Spiritual Direction from The Sacred Art of Living Center and Mercy Center, and is an advanced instructor in Equine Facilitated Learning through Eponaquest.

Lauren lives in Southwest Portland with her husband of 40 years, Charles. Her family includes two children Caitlin and Ryan, their amazing partners and her delightful two year old grandson Avery. Her four-legged family is another light in her life and includes two labradoodles; Ruby and Arlo who is working hard to become a therapy dog. In her free time Lauren’s passions include sewing and horse time whenever there is an opportunity.
